Barely made this one with time to spare. But the important thing, it got posted! We have another player that we had to shoehorn in another slot that was vacant. So with 71 Days until kickoff–RB Ryker Clinger

#71 (37), Ryker Clinger, RS Freshman, RB

Stats

Height: 5′ 11″

Weight: 197 lbs

High school: Shelley Senior HS, Shelley, ID

How’d he get to The Blueâ„¢?

Like any other homegrown kid, Mr. Clinger did good things while at high school and made the roster. At the time he was the no. 43 prospect in Idaho and played both sides of the ball. He had some interesting schools that at least kind of recruited him. And held an offer with Idaho State. But he chose correctly with Boise State.

Nickname

“Clinger”

Not very imaginative, I know, but I do think it’s a cool last name.

Look-alike

You know, if Clinger grew out the hair a bit I could see Joe Keery of ‘Stranger Things’.

Career Highlights

Nothing on the Blue yet but he does hold Shelley Senior’s all-time all-purpose yards. As a junior he had 1,872 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns.

2024 Prospectus

When you’re in the same position group as Ashton Jeanty, you probably know what’s going to happen: special teams. I root for the homegrown kids as much as the next person but c’mon, let’s be realistic about expectations. Clinger will most likely make a splash on the scout team and make a lot of appearances on special teams. And there certainly ain’t nothing wrong with any of that. And if he really breaks through and I have to eat some crow? I will welcome that.

Is he on Twitter?

Completely made up fact

Clinger is also a former Jenga national champion. He’s just that competitive. He was thinking about going full-time pro but he wanted to let someone else have a chance at stacking wooden blocks.
