How’d he get to The Blue™?

Gavin was part of Andy’s inaugural crop of recruits in 2022. The 3 star LB shunned multiple service academy schools en route to wearing Bronco blue, which at the least says something about his toughness. The choice was clear, the choice was good, he traded apples for a valley of treasure.

Nickname

“Gavin Appleseed”

You might say, “wow, Hunter is REALLY leaning into this Apple Valley bit isn’t he today?” to which I would say, Gavin is not unlike Johnny “Appleseed” Chapman, American folk legend, who in reality was an astute businessman that strategically placed his renowned apple nurseries. Likewise is Gavin Hambrick astute, and surely he stands on business as a member of the crop of linebackers who will soon lead this Bronco defense.

Look-alike

In our weekly shareholder meeting, the lookalike machine suggested Kim Nam Joon, known professionally as RM, known previously as Rap Monster, and known by teenage girls (and all kinds of adults) as the leader of the boy band BTS. I don’t fully understand the implications of this but it’s possible Gavin will form a rap career or perhaps even launch a boy band, time will tell.

Career Highlights

Gavin appeared in all 14 games this season, special teams primarily, and appeared on the Academic All-Mountain West list as well for good measure.

2024 Prospectus

If DJ Schramm didn’t exist I would say this is the year where we would really be able to tell where Gavin stands, but thanks to DJ, it’s entirely possible that Gavin shows up to 2026 looking like the best LB in the world. The currently reality is that it looks like he’s a few spots down the depth chart at the moment, but that can change in a hurry, so we’re gonna have to wait for that “Father Time” guy to tell us.

Completely made up fact

It’s been said that Apple Valley, CA looks down upon arbitrary last names. They ask, what is a Schramm? Why is a Jeanty? They yearn for surnames of reality, like Smith, Shoemaker, Castle, Hunter, and Johnson. It is then no wonder the power Gavin wields as both ham and brick, a union of two objects that leaves folks to marvel at the possibilities.
