This is absolutely huge news. UNLV just locked themselves into an eternity in the increasingly mediocre Mountain West over a $20 million promise. Meanwhile, Allen and Billie Dee Noble just float in from heaven, on a golden cloud made of sheer generosity and dreams and go “Here you go, Broncos. Do something cool with this.“
The deal to receive the largest donation one-time gift in Boise State history was closed by none other than THE GREATEST ATHLETIC DIRECTOR IN AMERICA, Jeramiah Dickey. This man can never leave. Seriously. It can never be allowed. If you see him in the store, buy his groceries. If you recognize his kids out trick-or-treating tonight, just go ahead and dump your whole candy bowl in their bags. He needs to love this place so much that ever leaving is unthinkable!
But, also, a massive thank you from Bronco Nation to Allen and Billie Dee Noble. What they have done is…*ahem*…noble! Okay, okay, cut me some slack! I have to practice my dad jokes because I’m going to be one in a few months. For real though, that level of generosity is so incredibly unique in the world and especially to the smaller world of Boise State football. The money (and publicity) received from that first Fiesta Bowl win–$4+ million–changed the entire school. One can hardly fathom what greatness might come from a gift of this magnitude. It’s truly incredible.
The campaign and vision set forth by Jeramiah Dickey is one that is not short on ambition and it’s no secret. The campaign is called Unbridled and it has very ambitious stated goals. Per Broncosports.com: From groundbreaking research to expanded opportunities for the best and brightest students, Unbridled: “The Campaign for Boise State University advances key priorities at the university level and for each college, school, unit and Athletics to meet the unique challenges of our time. The Unbridled campaign aims to raise $500 million by 2028 and focuses on three key pillars: student access and success, relentless faculty innovation and positioning athletics for what’s next. What a day. Happy Halloween, everyone. No trick; just treats!

Wow, it makes my $5,000,000 look paltry.
Right?? I feel the same about my pauper-ish contribution of $24,999,999. I’m a fool. A fool in a man’s shoes!
FKWG is generating far more revenue than I thought.
Thank God there’s more money going to sports and not something useless and stupid like art or culture. I’m so happy being an American swine.
I gave you a vote-up on this one. It is, I believe, rich with sarcasm. Indeed some hold their nose at such use of funds. Spending money on a thriving athletic program does far more for an educational institution than just handing money over for things like art, culture, gender studies, DEI, and the like. I’m not making any sort of evaluation (just being snarky) on those things but for the most part, it would be money tossed down the drain. However a thriving athletic program does generate funds for other endeavors such as those mentioned, and because it is… Read more »
