Exciting Facts and Such

1. Record Chasing

Alvero Cardenas is only 1 assist away from breaking the single-season program record. The record, previously held by La’Shard Anderson, came in the 2010-11 season when he put up a cool 165. Tyson Degenhart is also chasing the all-time scoring record in program history, currently 156 short of the record 1,789.

2. Resume Watch

The gauntlet to earn an at-large spot in the tournament has arrived tonight, starting with San Diego State. The Broncos will most likely have to finish 6-1 in their last 7, and can only afford for that one loss to be against Utah State, Nevada, New Mexico, or tonight against San Diego State. Otherwise, it is MW tournament or bust. The Broncos’ records against each quad currently sit at: Q1: 2-3. Q2: 2-3, Q3: 4-0, Q4: 8-1.

3. In for a classic finish?

Last time in Viejas, the Broncos came out victorious in overtime, winning 79-77 following Max Rice’s outrageous 3-pointer. Might just be the craziest you will ever see.

Keys to Victory

Shut down the 3

In the loss, the 3-ball is what killed us. They shot a staggering 41% and felt like they couldn’t miss. This time around, we need to shut it down.

Limit Turnovers

Protect the rock and don’t let them get fast break opportunities.

Score Prediction

The Broncos already lost in this one in Boise, and winning in Viejas is no easy feat. That said, the Broncos know what needs to be done and I think they take care of business.

Boise State 76, San Diego State 73
