Mr. Bates is another member of the Texas pipeline. He actually played QB his Sophomore and Junior seasons, moving to what recruiting sites just call athlete (ATH). He was a consensus 3-star recruit and choose the Broncos over the likes of Texas Tech, Toledo, and Sam Houston State.

Career Highlights

Cam appeared in 13/14 games for the Broncos, hauling in 9 catches for 67 yards and also logging a 20 yard rushing-ish score against Portland State. Not too bad!

2025 Prospectus

Cam Bates might just be the most important question mark on this team. The WR room is looking thin after the departures of Camper, Bolt, and Strachan. Bates showed off impressive speed with specially designed plays a year ago—a promising sign that he could be dangerous with an unloaded playbook. Either way, it’s more than likely we’ll see him plenty this year, and good season from him bodes very well for a potential return to the CFP.
