Circuitously. After playing QB and DB during his high school career, Freeney earned a spot at San Mateo Community College and spent the 2022 season there. The following year, in 2023, he moved on to Miami (FL) and got into three games on special teams. During the 2024 season, Freeney got on the field a bit more, this time as an Arizona Wildcat. He had 7 total tackles and a fumble recovery.

They typically don’t let slouches play at places like Miami or Arizona. He’s got some athletic talent. And speed. He ran the 100m in 11 seconds in high school. So, he’ll get his chances, if he earns them. That said, getting a starting spot in 2025 might be an order too tall.
