De’Shawn hails from Lehi, Utah, where he was the number 2 EDGE recruit in the state. Utah has been producing better and better recruiting talent in recent days, and it seems the Broncos are less content these days to leave recruits on the table in neighboring states. Toilolo correctly chose the Broncos over the likes of Utah State and San Diego State.

The defensive line lost not a few key contributors from a year ago. De’Shawn is probably a bit back on Coach Danielson’s proverbial “seating chart”, but it’s not uncommon to see young guys get some snaps while preserving their redshirt, so it could be something to watch.

If you’re ever around De’Shawn, you’ll notice family and friends normally just call him DST. Many think this is simply because those are his initials, but it’s actually because his real name is Daylight Savings Time.
