Players To Watch

Lucky Sutton, RB

Lucky’s 898 yards is something like less than half what Jeanty had at this point last year, but it is good enough for the conference lead. Despite some struggles against the run this year, the return of David Latu should provide some hope on that front against him.

Trey White, DE

One of the best defensive players in the conference, Trey White boasts 6 sacks on the season and will be a tall task for the BSU o-line. Here’s to hoping we get the BSU line’s best.

Matchup(s) to Watch

Offense

On paper, the Aztec defense is good at pretty much everything. It doesn’t help that our EPA/dropback is also likely much worse with Cutforth at the reins. All that said, this same Aztec team got smoked 38-6 a week ago, so there are certainly be chinks in the armor.

Defense

Defense doesn’t deserve much blame this year. In every loss, they’ve played good enough to win but were sold out by the offense one too many times. They should be more that enough to lock down the Aztecs.

Keys to Victory

Running Game with a Pulse

Easier said than done. The Aztecs will want to bottle up the run game at all possible and force Max to beat them. I’m sure not if we can schedule out our every-other-week running game, but here’s to hoping we can.

Turnover Margin

I hate doing this one because it’s often pretty obvious, but winning the turnover battle will be paramount tonight. Just give our boy Max a chance tonight.

Score Prediction

Saw someone say they expected someone to win 30-13 and they weren’t sure who, and that’s about what I expect tonight. I know I’ve sounded pessimistic today, but I’m weirdly optimistic? Think the Broncos prove they’re the class of the future PAC-12 tonight, with some clever plays to give Max opportunities.
