Apologies for missing the article yesterday, we’ll get that one up soon! As for today, just 3 TDs and a Colton Boomer FG away from the season. Presenting Mr. Tahj Crutchfield:
#24, Tahj Crutchfield, Sophomore, DB

Stats
Height: 5’11
Weight: 188
High school: Rancho Cucamonga HS
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Tahj comes from a football family, and as it turns out, his very first offer came from the school his dad played football at… BYU. 24/7’s Greg Biggins called him “one of the most athletic defensive backs out West” and well, you know how Spencer Danielson feels about track stars (Which I didn’t mention before, but he also was that).
At the end of the day though, there’s only one Boise State. Could not have been a hard choice, really.
Nickname
“Boneyard”
The way I see it, Crutchfield is basically a PG version of Boneyard, so I feel like it works. He’s a DB so it could even be like an Isle of Bones or something, ya know, like Revis Island.
Look-alike
Today, the lookalike machine asks you to imagine NBA icon Bronny James, but with dreadlocks.
Career Highlights
Only his redshirt season in the books so far. Check out some tape!
2026 Prospectus
As I’ve mentioned in other articles, it’s a DB room of opportunity this year. Tahj is currently off the radar, but a lot can change with some opportunity. Nearly every Big 12 school in the West offered him, so clearly there’s at least some potential. Keep an eye out for him.
Is he on Twitter?
Yes sir, it’s @Tahjhimself. And he tweets!
Completely made up fact
When Tahj signed for the Broncos, he was also asked to disavow any relationship he had with BYU through his father. It felt excessive, but after sleeper agent (and now BYU DC) Kelly Poppinga, you can never be too careful.
