And with that the Milk Can comes back to Boise.

This win snaps a three-game skid to the Bulldogs and all done on their homecoming night as well. Kind of curious why they would have done that.

RB Dylan Riley had himself another fantastic game as he shredded the Fresno State defense to the tune of 150 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown while adding 64 yards receiving on four catches (he caught ALL passes his way) and added another receiving touchdown. Riley is averaging 139 yards/game on the ground. Feels good to me.

Maddux Madsen is having himself such a solid year. He went 23-34 for 238 yards, two TDs and a another clean sheet on the turnovers stats. He still has yet to throw the ball to the wrong color jerseys this year and I, for one, think that’s a good thing.

Sire Gaines contributed to the rushing attack (after being sidelined for a bit) with 120 of his own yards and a TD. Having the two best backs in the Pac12 is frankly ridiculous.

Rasean Jones was ruled out for this game, unfortunately, but this didn’t hamper the pass game. Matt Wagner stepped up with five catches in clutch time netting 46 yards (and a long of 17). Terrious Favors caught two of the three passes his way for 27 yards and a touchdown. Ben Ford caught all four passes to him for 45 yards.

The game didn’t FEEL as close as the score indicated. Fresno QB Jayden Mandal went 19-33 for 218 yards and two touchdowns. He did get sidelined for a few plays to see his backup Khristian Martin make one completed pass: a touchdown pass to WR Ezekiel Avit. Super-unfortunate.

The tackling woes did appear to come back for the Broncos as the Fresno receivers had 277 receiving with 180 after catch. The Broncos receivers had 238 yards receiving, 114 after the catch (and 43 of that was Riley’s touchdown reception). Here’s to the coaches focusing on that piece the next few practices.

The Broncos have a much-needed rest as they face Washington State in Pullman on October 24th.

Go Broncos!
