Other facts
1. The GOAT
Kellen now permanently in Boise, just how it’s meant to be.
2. Injury Report
Unsurprisingly Madsen has also been announced out, so we won’t see any of the three. We’re going to need the trio down the stretch though, hopefully all will be retuning soon.
3. THREADZ
Color rush on the road! (Okay not actually color rush because Colorado is wearing White, but we will be wearing colors and rushing the ball a lot)
5. Remember When?
Play QB for CSU and you too can spit on an opposing team whilst down 30!
Streaks
Boise State – Won 7
Colorado State – Lost 1
Best Name On Their Roster
Juice Vereen, TE

He’s got the JUICE.
Best Picture On Their Roster
Kallen Martinez, S

Hair going out of the frame is a layup pick in these parts.
Players To Watch
Hauss Hejny, QB
Hejny made his return from injury a few weeks ago and has been dealing, with 1,100 yards and 14 TDs in essentially 4 games played. He’s probably excited to face our pass defense! I am noticably less excited about that.
Oumar Diomande, LB
Oumar has been a bright spot for the CSU defense, leading the team in tackles and placing second on the team in interceptions with 2. If the Rams want to keep up, Oumar will need to have a big game.
Matchup(s) to Watch

By the numbers, CSU has the worst defense in America. Will they also probably play some crazy inspired ball because they’re playing Boise State? Yeah probably. Either way, the matchup is an excellent one for the Broncos starting a backup on the road.
Rants, Worries, or Wishes
QB Situation
Max Cutforth looked great in relief of Maddux Madsen last week, who was having a not great second half. Personally, I don’t think this means anything in regards to the QB1 spot. I’d honestly go as far to say this goes without saying, but I’ll explain my reasoning because I know this something people are talking about.
I think the most important argument is a leadership one. Maddux Madsen is the undisputed leader of this team, and this has been said many times by Spencer Danielson. You can, of course, lead from the sideline, but you want your guy on the field. But what if your guy isn’t as good as another guy?
If we only look at one half of one game, you could maybe say that Max Cutforth is better, but we have a lot of games in our sample! Madsen has had a superb season and put on great performances against a variety of excellent opponents. I think if you were to bench your undisputed leader starting quarterback having a great season, we would need to believe that the backup is a clear upgrade in all situations. We saw what happened this year with Oregon’s Dylan Raiola performing great in his relief of the injured Dante Moore against USC only to look pedestrian in several games following. Being a backup is hard! Especially when teams can gameplan against you,.
I say all this to say that there’s a certain segment of sports fanbases that are so obsessed with being right that they implicitly root against their team/their players in hopes of being proven right. I’ve seen this a lot with Madsen. For me, I don’t hope Cutforth fails just to show everyone how right I am (which to be clear, I’m not even saying that he will fail). All I’m saying it’s that 100 times out of 100, I will choose being wrong if it means my team wins!
Score Prediction
I would love for this to be even more of blowout given what Colorado State has given up in the points column, but I’ll opt for a more conservative prediction (after my blowout prediction did not do well in the second half last week…). Only Southern Utah (24 points) did not score 30+ on the Rams, so I like us to put up some points.
Boise State 42, Colorado State 24

Pends on which BSU team shows up today.
Will it be the lock down defense or the open the floodgates defense?
Will it be the O line that opens truck lanes or the O line that forgets the blocking scheme?
The one thing going for the Broncos is that they always seem to play better after a scare.
I like the 42-24 prediction.
