After a torrid start in Boise with UCF throwing a deflected pick in the red zone, Boise State had a beautiful pitch and catch from Green to McCallister called back because the refs had “bad vibes” about possession before going out of bounds.
The BSU secondary has been keeping everyone on their toes, giving up big gains through the middle of the field, but then stiffening up in the red zone to hold UCF without a touchdown through two quarters.
After UCF opened up the scoring with a short drive for a field goal, Taylen Green hooked up with Ashton Jeanty for a 38 yard strike.
UCF’s kicker has booted 3 through the uprights, including a personal best of 55 yards.
Not to be outdone, Jonah Dalmas booted a personal best of his own 56 yards for 3.
Boise State’s defense continued their “bend but don”t break” and held up UCF on subsequent drives to the red zone.
The second half is about to get underway!

I hate being THAT GUY, but I can’t see us being successful with the product that Avalos is producing. Either he course corrects immediately, or we need a new head coach. I wasn’t the type of fan who wanted Harsin to get fired, and I honestly hope Avalos can turn things around, but if we have another game like this I don’t know how we can continue. I could tell the players were playing their hearts out, but we were not coaching appropriately. I hope the sun rises again soon on Bronco Nation.
One loss is an anomoly, two losses is a pattern. What ever happened to “Protect the Blue”?
We have talanted, athletic players, but the coaching sucks!
Man that was a heart breaker.
