The conference made us sweat, like a bunch of jerks, because they use a system that makes about as much sense as…whatever you can think of that makes no sense. The old BCS bowl rankings, perhaps! It felt a lot like that.
In the end, though, the good guys won. And let’s hope they have what it takes to win one more time! Well…technically two more times, because we’d also like to win our bowl game as well. But, y’know, 1-0 mentality and all that.
As part of the statement released by Boise State, we got an idea how close it really was:
“According to the average computer rankings, UNLV finished at 44.50, while Boise State was at 55.75 and San José State at 58.50. Therefore, the Broncos and Rebels secured their spots in the MW Championship. UNLV had the higher overall average ranking and earned the right to host the title tilt.“
The game will be played December 2nd, vs UNLV, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas at 1 pm. It will be broadcast nationally on Fox.

Wow!
This opens a way to have a nine-win season. Who would’ve ever thunk?
Love it when I’m wrong!! Go Broncos!!
After reading the espn article about this, I thought for sure BSU was going to get hosed.
Glad espn is just a bunch of BSU haters and had no idea what they were talking about.
Go Broncos!
Yeah. Even the ESPN article hints that the computer thing is a joke. They aren’t wrong. I’m not sure why these conferences are going away from divisions. It doesn’t really make sense. This malarkey will be a regular occurrence.
Did they have to dust off ENIAC or the HAL 9000 to get the rankings?
They dusted off the old TRS 80 with the 5-1/4″ floppy disks for this one. The TRS 80 was the first computer I ever owned. It is a jewel.
Definitely Hal’s doing and San Jose was Dave. I’m sorry Dave.
Bachmeier is back in the transfer portal. Could he come back to BSU? Could his brother at Stanford enter the portal and come to BSU?
Oh, the intrigue.
No. And no.
You passed. Now move to the head of the class.
Actually, I watched a Stanford game and his brother is pretty good. That QB they have was good too. Just young and dumb but he looked like he had the right talents to be successful down the line. I think Stanford will bounce back big time next year.
Still a no though. Im too traumatized from the Bachmeir era.
If BSU wins the title game what bowl do you think they’ll draw. We know it won’t be the Potato Bowl. I’m guessing Hawaii.? What say you ?
I think they automatically get the L.A. Bowl as league champions. This would be a chance to beat a P5!
Yes! We need the opportunity to get a win against a P5. I’m slightly afraid it would be against Arizona who has been red hot recently. The Pac12 had a lot of very good teams this year, so whoever it is will be a tough matchup but a good opportunity for us to shine.
I’ve seen where the projected matchup is against UCLA
The opportunity to beat Chip Kelly again would be outstanding!!
