Today the Boise sports media had the opportunity to meet with BSU’s coaches to ask them about the upcoming championship game with UNLV, their thoughts on how their team matches up with them, and their aspirations and plans for potentially being head coaches one day.

I’m hearing a lot of teams announce new coaches already. Seems like we are behind the ball here. I see that they interviewed Bronco Mendenhall. I’m sorry, but I can’t get past his tainted BYU blood. It would be like them trotting out John L. Smith. Vomit inducing. I’m not sure I could get past that. Apparently they interviewed the Montana State coach too. For sure. It’s a lot more convenient to use and gets a lot more engagement too, but really, the best part is the feature of the app enabling video playback with the screen locked (without requiring a subscription )
There is too much emphasis on how the team likes Danielson. For sure they do, but the enthusiastic response to him has more to do with locker room leadership. No team should play for the coach alone; you play for the team. A coach will let you down but a team won’t. When one member of the team is down others fill in and lift him up. If Dickey hires someone other than Danielson, the leadership and “the team” will respond with enthusiasm. Players would rather be coached to be better no matter who the coach is.
