#59, Lopez Sanusi, Freshman, Defensive Line

Stats

Height: 6′ 3″

Weight: 295 lbs

High school: NFL (England) Academy

How’d he get to The Blue™?

Mr. Sanusi was a three-star recruit out of high school (right?) per 247Sports and On3. He got here through a fun and circuitous route, basically all over Ireland (where he was born), America, and in Nigeria. Dude is Mr. Worldwide. He also fielded offers from Georgia State and Buffalo. The choice was pretty clear.

Nickname

“Mr. Worldwide”

Career Highlights

In the academy he netted two defensive MVP awards and was part of a squad that beat IMG Academy. So that’s cool.

2024 Prospectus

It’s kind of weird how there is a differentiation for Defensive Line and Defensive Tackle. I am sure there are nuances that us plebes won’t understand but on the surface of it, the differences seem miner. Strictly speaking there are only three guys on the roster that are designated DL all are freshmen and one is Sanusi. If you combine the Line and Tackles together (which I am going to do) then it’s going to be tough sledding seeing the field on a consistent basis given the talent that is currently on the roster.

HOWEVER if there is a chance for a freshman to see said time, I don’t see a reason it couldn’t be Sanusi. But more than likely will be limited to the four games (at most) to retain the redshirt. Unless he’s just absolutely dominant on the field (which, goodness, I hope this is true).

Is he on Twitter?

Completely made up fact

Sanusi is super-sensitive to light when he sleeps. So he has to wear a sleep mask to help block out the light. He decided to try out the iLive Massage Gun and Wireless Sleep Mask from Lowe’s. Absolutely SWEARS by it.
