Stats
Height: 5’10
Weight: 181
High school: Kahuku HS, (Kahuku, HI)
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Spencer Danielson talks a lot about family and Kaonohi was quite literally family to Bronco blue. That was enough to persuade the 3-star to turn down college in the islands and head to the City of Trees.
Nickname
“2K”
Now all we need is for 2K to make a college football game.
Look-alike

Kanohi kinda reminds me of former Boise State safety Kekaula Kaniho. Maybe it’s the tie?
Career Highlights
I could go into the nitty gritty of his pass breakups and tackles, but here’s what really matters: 2 career game-sealing INTs (BYU 2021 and Air Force 2023) and 2 career blocked kicks. Need I say more?
2024 Prospectus
The DB room has undergone significant overhaul in the offseason. I can’t say I’m an expert at defensive schemes but I’d imagine we will see Kaonohi spend some time at free safety as well as nickel and dime packages, given his cover skills. He’s the 2nd fastest player on the team (which you can see if you squint at the pic below) and will be a leader for 2024.
Is he on Twitter?
He is, at the intuitively named @kaonohikaniho. He’s good for the occasional retweet but is locking in for football szn.
Completely made up fact
At the founding of Boise State, president FirstName LastName included an unusual addition to the Boise State constitution. Should there ever be a football team, they are required by law to recruit any and all K Kanihos from Hawaii. Prophecy or law we know not, yet we do know that it’s probably illegal to do that.

It looks like both Robinson and Kaniho will be back ups. It’s crazy that two guys who have played so much in the last few years have been displaced by newcomers. It goes to show how bad our dbs have been recently.
All these young guys and transfers taking over.
