There are two #4s on the roster but the present inhabitants of the #5 jerseys, Jayden Virgin-Morgan and Chris Marshall, have already been profiled on different days. As such, we’re going with seniority and first profiling jersey #4, defense edition…

#4, Rodney Robinson, RS Senior, Safety

Credit: Broncosports.com

Stats

Height: 5’8″

Weight: 181 (+1)

High school: Cajon HS (San Bernadino, CA)

How’d he get to The Blueâ„¢?

Rodney was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school. Offered by multiple Mountain West schools and a few PAC-12 Schools (and was leaning heavily toward SDSU). Boise State swooped in and got the commitment. Rodney enrolled at Boise State on August 1st, 2020.

Nickname

“The Graduate”

I’ll let you old school movie buffs work that one out. And yes, I know it doesn’t exactly fit, but I like it. It sounds dignified. So, it’s staying!

Look-alike

Former Cincinnati Reds pitcher, Edison Volquez…at least in this picture. Basically none of the others though.

Career Highlights

After playing 12 games (starting three) in 2021, he had back to back seasons in 2022 and 2023 of playing 14 games (and starting 13) each season.

If you’d like to see the highlights from his high school career, they can be viewed here.

2024 Prospectus

Mr. Robinson will yet again be one of the primary pieces of the secondary and the defense, as a whole. His work ethic and ability have put him in a position where he has become an extremely consistent player but one who’s even capable of flash plays every now and again.

Is he on Twitter?

Yes, and he and I are of one mind on this topic:

Completely made up fact

Rodney always seems so cool and calm on the field. This season, he has plans to take that up a notch. How? He got ahold of one of Dale’s QB helmets so that he has a headset while on the field. No, not so he get take tips from Chinander. Instead, he’ll be piping in some Mozart and Beethoven. That way, he can be lost in the lines of “Requiem” or “Ode to Joy” or whilst smashing faces and breaking up passes.
