1. Cayman Island Champs?
It’s that time of year again: Thanksgiving, colorful leaves on the ground, the end of the regular college football season, and of course preseason college basketball tournaments. The Broncos are a part of the Cayman Islands Classic this year; following wins against Hampton and SDSU (the other one), the Broncos will face Boston College in the championship, in which Boise State has an opportunity to claim a championship in the early season.
2. Breakout Performance

Javan Buchanan, the All-American NAIA product out of Lafeyette, Indiana, had a huge game against the Jackrabbits and pulled out a performance in a game that we likely lose without it. Buchanan put up a 28-point performance while shooting 64.7% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, and I don’t think that’s the last of these types of performances we will see from the young star.
3. Boston College Curse?
When you hear “Boise State vs. Boston College,” I can’t imagine that you think about very pleasant things: maybe you think about the 2005 MPC Computers Bowl or maybe even the game that never happened; either way, hopefully, we can win this one to make the connotation of Boise State vs. Boston College a positive one.

Player to Watch
Donald Hand Jr, G
The sophomore has been the X-factor for the Eagles this season, putting up an average statline of 17/10/1. He has been an absolute scoring machine, having scored more than at least 12 points in every game, including his season-high of 22 against FAU in the season opener.

It has been the name of the game for the Broncos in the past couple of seasons: Nobody steals the show, and everyone does what they can to bring the W home.
Stay out of foul trouble
It’s easier to win when you can keep your best guys on the court for longer periods of the game.
Score prediction
Both teams are coming off very contested contests, but I think the Broncos will prove to be the more battle-tested team and take home the trophy.
