Boise State’s four-game winning streak has ended at the expense of Boston College, losing the Cayman Islands Championship game 61-63. The loss comes from the go-ahead 3 from the Eagle’s senior guard, Joshua Beadle, with 2.2 remaining in the game.
This game feels reminiscent of the other lone loss of the season, in which the Broncos led the Dons midway through the second half, only to blow the lead later on; similarly here, we saw the Broncos boast a 9-point lead with 8:27 remaining and end up on the wrong side of the scoreboard by the end.
Although this game was a heartbreaker, there are some positive takeaways, mainly the performance of Javan Buchanan in a game where he continued his dominating run, putting up 24 points and 4 rebounds on 56% from the field and 50% from 3.
These are the types of losses that keep you up at night as a fan; the Broncos, at one point in this game, according to ESPN analytics, had a 90.1% chance of winning this game.
The next time we see the Broncos in action, they will be facing off against Utah Tech on December 3 at ExtraMile Arena.
Go Broncos.
Player of the game: Javan Buchanan 24 points
Bench player of the game: Also Javan Buchanan

I feel like a broken record on this topic. This team always drops these kinds of games. A lot of love for Rice and what he’s meant to this program but they need a catalyst for some change. We are staring down another super talented team that will struggle to make the tournament and lose in the first round if they do.
Again, for our program in its current state, that’s not a terrible outcome. Unless of course you are expecting them to take the next step!!
