Exciting Facts and Such

1. It’s That Week

Utah State Hate Week, that is. The Broncos have dominated the Aggies on the football field, so there is no talk from that side of the fanbase, but it gets serious around basketball season. Utah State fans have historically been extra hateful towards Boise State forever, whether it be them making fun of Nick Duncan’s weight, which resulted in him flipping their student section off, the Max/Leon Rice hatred, or anything in between. The Broncos better be ready to make them shut their mouths.

2. Resume Watch

Not our best work, and will likely force us to win the MW Tournament to go to the big dance unless we can pick up some big wins, starting with today against the Q1 Aggies. The Broncos lost their last big opportunity for a resume builder when they lost to San Diego State at home handing them a Q2 loss. As it currently stands, the Broncos records in each category are as follows: Q1: 1-1, Q2: 1-2, Q3: 5-1, Q4: 5-1.

3. Last Time These Teams Met

It was not pretty for the Broncos and led to a sweep of the season series last year for Utah State.

Player to Watch

Mason Falslev, G

The sophomore’s name is one we all unfortunately recognize from last season. Now, he comes back to the Aggies and is very improved, and will be a challenge for the Broncos to shut down. Mason is putting up an astounding 17/6/3 stat line, along with 2.5 steals per game.

Keys to Victory

Bring out our A-game

This season has been odd, as the team usually comes out looking like the best team in the country, everyone comes out struggling to hit anything with no in-between. We should hope that the former comes out in this game.

Limit Turnovers.

11.3 TPG which is good for 101st in the NCAA is not going to cut it, protect the rock.

Score prediction

This matchup has not favored the Broncos historically, or recently. The Broncos are 21-38 all-time against the Aggies, 13-13 under Coach Rice, and 4-22 in the Spectrum all-time. I sure hope I am wrong on this, but I don’t see the Broncos winning this one.

Boise State 69, Utah State 78
