Mr. Kuchenbuch was a three star recruit, according to On3, 247Sports, and ESPN. Plot twist though: He played as an all-conference quarterback and defensive end, rather than a tight end. As a senior, he completed 69% (nice) of his passes for 639 yards and 13 TDs with only one pick. However…he rushed for 1,062 yards and 24 TDs. Apparently, not a big passing offense. He also had 7 sacks and 7 TFLs. His most major other (lesser) offers were from WSU, Air Force, and…*gags a little*…UofI.

Tight end is a position where Boise State has some really great players at the top of the depth chart in Matt Lauter and Matt Wagner. There are even more quality athletes at the tight end position on this roster, just waiting in the wings. Carter is one of them. This year, he will build on his knowledge of the playbook and strengthen his frame, while possibly contributing on special teams and as a reserve.
