Via a roundabout way. Spent some time at a smaller college and then transferred to Boise before last season. Last season was functionally his redshirt year.

Career Highlights

Last season, at Boise State, Kayden got into three games, thus preserving what became his redshirt year. He returned a couple of kicks (one, for a solid 34 yards) and even caught a pass for six yards.

In his final season at Santa Barbara, he played in eight games. In them, he had 36 catches for 387 yards (5 receiving TDs) and five carries for 120 rushing yards (and another 2 TDs). On special teams, he returned 11 kicks for 280 yards (25.5 yard average) and 10 punts for 184 yards and a TD (18.4 yard average).

Some of those highlights can be viewed here.

2025 Prospectus

There has been some upheaval in the wide receiver room, with the departures of Cam Camper, Austin Bolt, and Prince Strachan. Two of those had eligibility left and would have been returning starters. So, theoretically, there might be some opportunities available to make a splash. And that’s kind of what I envision for him: Key special teams contributor, with some receptions on offense to eventually springboard him into an even bigger role next year.

Is he on Twi/X?

Yes. @Kaydenchan_1

Completely made up fact

Kayden’s career detour through Santa Barbara was the result of a misunderstanding. He mistook “Santa Barbara” College for “Santa Barber” College. He thought he was going to a barber school for barbers that cut hair while dressed as Santa. Unfortunately, such a thing does not exist…yet!
