#35, Colton Boomer, RS Junior, K

Stats

Height: 5–10

Weight: 175

High school: Lake Mary HS (Lake Mary, FL)—Originally from UCF

How’d he get to The Blue™?

Boomer made himself a villain in Boise after spoiling what would have probably been named something like “The Madsen Miracle”. He hit a 40 yard field goal as time expired (and 3 other field goals) to beat the Broncos for his UCF Knights. Ironically, that game was probably the highest point of his career thusfar, and the impact of injuries pretty much removed him for the majority of 2024. Now Boomer looks for a fresh start, and given his track record on the Blue, Bronco coaches were happy to oblige.

Nickname

“Co-Boom”

Normally, taking the first two letters of a first name and the last 4 of a last name doesn’t make much of a nickname (See names such as Ch-Marsh, Ma-Nota, Ma-Mads). However, like making kicks, Colton Boomer makes it easy.

Look-alike

The lookalike machine, with some thought, landed on Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin. At the least, they’re both explosive.

Career Highlights

He was prolific his freshman season at UCF, hitting 14/15 for a cool 93%. He took a setback with an injury the following season, going 13/21 in 2023 and 3/6 in 2024. He hit his career long of 55 against Boise State.

2025 Prospectus

Boomer is in the midst of a kicker battle with Jarrett Reser. Some reports have indicated that Reeser is in the lead, but all accounts seem to think neither has set themselves apart yet. It’ll be interesting to see, but the best case scenario is that with some recuperation from injury, Boomer returns to his freshman season form for the Broncos.
