It was a mighty fine weekend of college footballin’, wasn’t it? Lets follow that up with some Game Balls, shall well?

Game Ball One:

Dylan Riley

I mean, c’mooooon. This couldn’t be even more of a slam dunk. Even the Mountain West Conference had to crown him Offensive Player of the Week. 201 yards and a touchdown? Easy money. At one point Mr. Riley was almost averaging thirty yards a carry. The 13.4 rush per carry “only” being the fourth-highest average in program history is high comedy. Ridiculous.

Congratulations, Mr. Riley.

Game Ball Two:

A’marion McCoy

Mr. McCoy “only” had one tackle BUT he did manage his second pick-six of the year housing a 60-yarder from UNLV QB Anthony Colandrea. That’s pretty good in my book!

Congratulations, Mr. McCoy!

Game Ball Three:

Maddux Madsen

Mad Dog started kind of slow in this one with “only” one touchdown toss to Latrell Caples in the first half. But LARGELY that was due to Riley and Gaines trucking the opponent on the ground. In the second half he uncorked for three more touchdowns. He ended the day 14-23 and 253 yards with one interception (that hit the hands of a receiver) and one sack. Solid day for the QB.

Congrats, Mr. Madsen!

Game Ball Four:

Sire Gaines

Gaines was all over the place. Six rushes for 24 yards and a TD and one pass catch but made the most of it cashing in for a touchdown. Get you a guy who can do both.

Congrats, Mr. Gaines!

Game Ball Five:

Jaden Mickey

It’s good to have Mr. Mickey back. He made his presence felt with seven total tackles (four solo) to go along with two tackles for loss and a sack. OH and a pretty crucial pass break up. Love to see it.

Congrats, Mr. Mickey!

Your Turn

I had some (warranted) feedback about the lack of defensive players. So I rectified that on this one. How did I do?
