I think it’s possible we are in a weekend at Bernie’s situation. Potter died weeks ago and they just prop him up in the coaches box and they are sticking with the last run play he called.

San Diego understands that we are going to run the ball… up the gut… so they stack the box. Why haven’t we come to the realization that San Diego has no confidence in their QB throwing the ball down field and started stacking the box?
Perfect 3rd and goal call. Play the pass. Put the LB’s in the Endzone. What’s not to love?
Here’s a serious observation. If we just go with no OC, and use a spinning wheel with 6 run plays up the gut, could we put that money towards NIL deals and buy a few key players?
Unwatchable. This team has no redeeming qualities. I took my boys to see Oregon State get beat by Sam Houston last weekend. It was bad football, but at least it was entertaining. I don’t know what this is, but I literally cannot watch this team. This is what a dying program looks like. And I have tried to stay positive up till today. These players deserve so much better. Dude, I don’t disagree with you, but just a couple weeks ago you were saying posts like what you just wrote were “spoiled fan” talk. Now you see what is going on: Boise State’s brand and credibility and program are dying in front of our eyes.

What’s the stat bsu lost back to back games lost a game coming off a bye?
I’m not sure that stat is correct. I think the stat is that 100% of the time, Dirk Koetter was really the one coaching this team.
We have to be content with an 8-4 season this year. Yes it means a lower tier bowl game but keep in mind how many teams would kill to be 8-4. Some teams are happy just to be bowl eligible! Now if that doesn’t sit well with you? Remember the bowl games are for the players not the fans! Yes im very disappointed but im facing the reality. I’m sorry, but you are delusional. 7-5 or 6-6 are much more likely. Also, we will get demolished in any bowl game.
We have lost 2x in a row to teams whose quarterbacks threw for 35 and 17 yards, respectively! This season is over. If some heads don’t roll, this program will die and be relegated back to FCS in the next CFP cycle (2031).
There is no, “Aww shucks, lucky to have a winning record” spin here. It’s dire straits for this program right now.

San Diego isn’t all that great, yet BSU is worse.
Call me spoiled, but I do expect better from Boise State than the garbage we’ve been seeing this season.
We have to take the good with the bad. Yes its disappointing but we’re actually fortunate that bsu is bowl eligible. Im gonna support them regardless.
I think that an 8-4 season is now just wishfull thinking.
6-6 is probably where this season ends up.
After that missed field goal, 6-6 is all there will be.
All they can do now is try and win out, go 8-4 and play their bowl game. Which one ? Remains to be seen? Who knows? It might be a good bowl matchup?

The kicker with the daisy dukes is the icing on the cake. Give up the stupid #35 love fest and retire that jersey. No spoiled fan here. The players deserve better. Clearly max could actually could throw the ball and this coaching staff told him for over 3/4 of the game that they don’t trust him. They trust up the gut runs on repeat. At this point I don’t see BSU beating Colorado or Utah.
There are some serious heart issues with this team that seemingly can’t be worked out with the players and coaches.
I think they’ll win out . But regardless I think they draw the NM bowl which is the bottom of the barrel of mwc bowls. I think nm will get a better bowl this year and not face the shame of playing a bowl on their own field. Just as boise won’t have to be on a bowl game at home. Im.glad the mwc has enough honor not to do that. Yes! Playing a bowl game on your own field is embarrassing in my opinion.
Don’t think for a second that the Mountain West won’t stick us in the Potato Bowl on our way out the door. It’s exactly what I would do.
At least we will be in the prestigious Pac 7 next year. Our coffers will be filled from the massive contract with “The CW” and the football powers will finally respect us and our legitimate power conference.
Why would you put boise in a bowl game on its own field? You don’t think thats dishonorable or embarrassing?
I do think it’s embarrassing. That’s why the mountain west would do that. You think they are gonna shake our hand on the way out? I said it’s what I would do because I’m petty and vindictive. Like the mountain west.
A kid gets his first start under difficult circumstances, and a game is called that almost assures a loss.
This goes back to something posted two years ago: “You don’t allow the players to choose the coach.” It doesn’t work in the long haul.

Unfortunately, this might be one of the most mismanaged games in decades. I hope this season serves as a wake up call to make some very important decisions.
