Of interest. The Duke/Va game tomorrow is huge. If Duke wins it will open the door for Jmu to get in along with unt/Tulane winner.

All week long they’ve been saying if Duke wins the Acc will be left out all together. That opens it up for 2 G5 teams to get in.

I was trending along those lines for the past few games. In the first half, he called a really outstanding game! To start the second, we reverted to vanilla. That did change slightly in the fourth, and brought us a couple more scores.
As I thought about it, his game-calling would have to line up with the overall strategy of the HC, so I’m no longer calling for his head to roll but, that doesn’t mean I don’t reserve the right to change my mind again!!
If he’s going to call games like he did against Utah State and for 3/4 of the game against UNLV, I think he might be okay. But the majority of the season was just completely lifeless and uninspiring play calling. He should be on the hot seat no doubt about it. I don’t think Danielson tells him to run the ball up the middle on repeat. Danielson shouldn’t have a ton of input on the offense anyways being that he’s a defensive minded coach. I don’t know as if the majority of the season was lifeless. I think that’s a bit of a stretch. He is also learning, not that I use that as an excuse. I would think Potter would see that runs up the middle aren’t working, and would know that because he knows the OL. That doesn’t seem to be the case. However, his play calling, when on, is pretty good. For most of the first half, the offense had UNLV running all over, and it was beautiful to see.
