Mr. Madrie was a three-star prospect out of high school and had a pretty good offer sheet at the time. It was populated by the likes of Colorado, Washington State, Arizona State and Kansas (which is actually kind of a good one now, weirdly). After all that, though, he made the right choice and came to Boise State.

Career Highlights

Mr. Madrie played in 6 games in 2024, but ramped that up to 14 in 2025. He even got one start vs App State. With his time on the field, he accumulated 12 tackles, including 1.5 TFLs.

2026 Prospectus

Madrie has put a lot of effort into bulking up in his time at Boise State, which is a good thing when you play defensive tackle. He added 15 pounds between 2023 and 2024. Last offseason, 11. Now, he’s added another 9. At this rate, he will be the size of Rhode Island by 2030, but made of solid muscle. Thankfully, for him (and us), he doesn’t really need to get much larger, so he’ll likely stay about where he is now, which is perfect for what his job is on the field.

Last season, he became a frequent contributor and was listed as number 2 on the DT depth chart, behind Braxton Fely. With Braxton Fely now gone, no newcomers that immediately seem poised to supplant him, and Madrie having accumulated another full season of experience, it stands to reason that he will likely be manning one of the starting positions on the interior defensive line in 2026.

A Psychology major, Michael Madrie has been asked by three different opposing coaches to please stop diagnosing their offensive linemen mid-game. They’ve been returning to the sidelines in tears and the equipment staffs just don’t stock enough kleenexes for that.
