Bol Bol hails from the northern lands of Canada, and eventually made the trek southward to Washington for his senior year of high school before heading southeast to the Gem State.
He bears no relation to Manute Bol or the other Bol Bol. He’s his own Bol Bol. He’s also our own Bol Bol.
Nickname
“Squared”
Damien had it right last year. Relatedly, Bol² would also go crazy.

Career Highlights
Already collected an academic All-Mountain West award last year. Made appearances in 10 games, and logged a solo sack against Utah State! Not a bad start at all.
2026 Prospectus
Bol Bol has the potential to make a big impact this year. He’s put on a good amount of weight from last year, and showed flashes of what he could be. If he can take advantage of his 1v1s while JVM is doubled, it would bode very well for our inaugural PAC-12 stint.

Not much of a Tweeter, but his header photo is presumably him (or I suppose a sibling?) as a young young lad starting directly into your soul and I think that’s worth a follow. @BolkuolBol
Completely made up fact
Bol’s parents initially planned to name him Bowl Bowl due to their love of both the popular dish and the sport of bowling. Unbeknownst to them, the spell check on the birth certificate autocorrected to Bol Bol and the rest was history.
On a few occasions last year, he made his presence known. Likely, a step up in his development from last season. I hope he can ride it out and stay in the fold.
Hopefully, when his days at BSU are done, he will have played in so many bowl games that he becomes known as Bowl Bol.
