Another day, another doll—article. 90 days until the season!
#90, Andrew Rheubottom, Senior, DL

Stats
Height: 6’0
Weight: 277
High school: Milford Mill Academy (Baltimore, MD)
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Andew (Drew?) certainly took the scenic route on his way to Boise. He started his college career at D3 powerhouse Mount Union before transferring over to De Anza college. Luckily for him and us, our fearless head coach is familiar with the California JUCO circuit thanks to some personal experience. The Broncos made the offer, and Mr. Rheubottom signed the dotted line. (Are dotted lines still a thing?)
Nickname
“Headhunta”
I usually don’t condone self-nicknames (Per his Twitter), but we need a big year from him so I’m gonna allow it.
Look-alike

Going with the thematically appropriate pick today. The difference is that, unlike Dexter Lawrence, we would never trade Mr. Rheubottom to Cincinnati.
Career Highlights
Andrew picked up California’s Region II defense player of the year in 2025, leading his squad to the Golden Coast regular season championship. He amassed a staggering 62 tackles in just 8 games, including 20 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and 4 pass breakups. Now I know that’s JUCO, but that kind of dominance at that level bodes well for this one.
2026 Prospectus
Defensive lines are tremendously important to championship teams. Well, every position is important to championship teams, but a quick glance at the NFL tells us they’re one of the highest paid position groups for good reason. A great season for Andrew would be a big swing in our pursuit of an inaugural PAC-12 title and a return to the CFP.
It’s hard to say what we should expect from him—the adjustment to D1 FBS ball is harder for some than others, but I’d expect to see him play some important snaps this fall.
Is he on Twitter?
Yes he is! @Dreww2timess. The question is, who is the second Drew? Is he in the room with us?
Completely made up fact
Andrew doesn’t believe in the infinite monkey theorem. No matter how many typewriters or monkeys you have, you could never write the script for the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. (Much less the 2026 Boise State natty run!)

So we don’t know how good he really is against good competition. Maybe the best that can be expected is he gives a starter a breather and doesn’t give up much
Yeah it’s very hard to say with JUCO. Demarcus Lawrence was a JUCO guy, but certainly not everyone is Demarcus Lawrence. I think it’s fair to expect him to at least be a rotational guy, and not unreasonable to think he could be a starter
