A ‘lil Friday night edition for you good folks (Or perhaps Saturday morning for anyone in Sweden?) Presenting Gustaf Henriks Ras:

#57, Gustaf Henriks Ras, FR, EDGE

Source: broncosports.com

Stats

Height: 6’4

Weight: 228

High school: AIK Amerikansk (Stockholm, Sweden)

How’d he get to The Blue™?

Gustaf was one of two recruits the Broncos wrestled away from Georgia this past season (Not to mention offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Texas A&M…!). The Broncos have started tapping into the international pipeline more and more lately, and this was their biggest get yet. It’s a long flight from Sweden, and one that comes with high hopes for Gustaf.

Nickname

“Blue Swede”

He’s named himself on Twitter “The Swedish Freak”, a title I have to withhold due to our “no self-nicknames” policy. Gustaf does reserve the right to earn that with his play on the field, but for right now? We’re simply “Hooked on a Feeling”.

2026 Prospectus

Could go a few ways. There’s usually an adjustment period to get used to football in the States, but like other international players often do, he arrives a bit older (and consequently) stronger. It’s not unusual to see freshman make appearances at EDGE, so it’s something to look out for, but not to worry about.

Is he on Twitter?

As previously mentioned, @gustaf_ras is The Swedish Freak, and while perhaps not as active on social media as fellow Scandinavian, Erling Haaland, he’s on there now and again.

Completely made up fact

Gustaf seriously considered the offers from the various SEC schools, but there was one thing those schools couldn’t promise him: snow. Once Gustaf learned of the annual team snowball fight on Albertson’s field, he knew it was the place for him.
