Keeping local talent at home should always be a priority for the Broncos. It doesn’t happen every time but it should happen more often than not. At any rate the former three-star athlete was the top-rated defensive lineman per On3, 247Sports, and ESPN. And was also rated one of the top eight prospects in the 2025 recruiting year. All-in-all: a good get.

Mr. Rupp had a sizable recruiting list including: UNR, Air Force, Army, New Mexico, San Diego State, and Utah State. There were some others but eh.

Rupp was 6A fist team all-state selection as a junior. Totaled 107 tackles in his career with 27 tackles for loss and 12 career sacks. Led Rocky Mountain to a 10-2 record as a senior and a state championship game appearance as a junior.

2026 Prospectus

Red shirt year most likely. Making the field is tough as a true freshman and while it would be a fun story for him to get on the field, a consistent presence is unlikely. Maybe four games and then sits? Wouldn’t surprise me if he develops and becomes a force next year.
