If any of you were wondering, St. Kitts and Nevis was the first Caribbean island that was colonized by Europeans. They speak English, have a population of 47k, and lost 7-0 to the USMNT last night. Go figure! And now for “football” football, Mr. Hall Schmidt.
#65, Hall Schmidt, Redshirt Freshman, OL

Stats
Height: 6’7
Weight: 302
High school: Peninsula HS (Gig Harbor, WA)
How’d he get to The Blue™?
This 6’7 giant is yet another addition to our domination of the state of Washington. Clearly Andy loves the state, and I can’t say I mind when we get dudes like this. 3 star recruit, chose us over Wazzu and a few others.
Nickname
“Hall Pass”
I’m still trying to decide if this nickname works for an O-lineman, but go with me here: Hall is the grumpy middle school teacher who won’t let anyone use the bathroom during class. Now that’s ELITE blocking.
Look-alike

“Trust the machine”. I have mixed feelings about reality stars being called “celebrities” but I’ll go with it anyway. To be fair, I’d much rather see a reality show about Hall Schmidt and the offensive line than whatever Spencer Pratt is on (google says “The Hills”?)
Career Highlights
He redshirted in his only season in the the Bronco Blue, but he’s got some good tape from the ‘ol high school days.
2023 Prospectus
It’s certainly a possibility he makes his way into some minutes this year. I think he’s still a bit off from being a rotational piece but after the redshirt year he’s gotten some more experience under his belt. I do know that you can’t coach size, so I’m optimistic about his future ’round these parts.
Is he on Twitter?
He does, @schmidt_hall, and it’s the first countdown I’ve had in a while that had a tweet within the last week! Still not too much, but you can give him a follow.
Completely made up fact
Last night’s game for the USMNT revealed that Hall is the biggest hater of the Saint Kitts and Nevis islands. He explained that the islands bullied him in middle school (before he reached his 6’7 frame), and he’s working on legislation with the US Congress that calls for sinking the islands back in the Caribbean. However, the legislation is currently stalled due such action being “illegal” and “impossible.
This will be the third year without Badell as Oline’s coach and Keane’s third year. We started seeing glimmers of hope after the departure of what’s-is-name. How much that had to do with a QB with legs or a new OC is anybody’s guess. But Keane has had three years to recruit and develop–let’s wait and see.
