Buckle in folks, you get me for the next three days. Goooood luck. Presenting: Mr. Chase Penry

#13, Chase Penry, Redshirt Sophmore, WR

Stats

Height: 6’1

Weight: 194

High school: Cherry Creek HS (Denver, CO)

How’d he get to The Blue™?

The 3 star recruit had a host of Ivy League offers and Colorado coming out of high school. He went with the Buffalos before eventually seeing the light, transferring and joining the Broncos in December.

Nickname

“Chase-Y Penry” (See also: “JC Penny”)

Do we have an NIL deal on our hands? Chase already has the hair for it, get him a few touchdowns and we’re golden.

Look-alike

Some are saying that Chase is the reincarnation of former Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko, and that someone is me. The good news on that front is that Chase will grow another 8 inches taller, which should make him pretty versatile.

Career Highlights

As a true freshman at Colorado, Chase started 3 games of 11 he played in, snagging 8 receptions for 86 yards and this tuddie:

Injuries kept him out most of his sophomore season, but he did get 2 catches for 25 yards in the 4 games he played in before getting his redshirt.

2023 Prospectus

Chase is a big-time wild card this year. Our WR corps is solid, but the injury of Latrell Caples opens the door for a newcomer to make a name. Luckily for Chase, WR is position that gives plenty of opportunities for a lot of guys. I think McCallister is probably the favorite to take the next step this season, but that likely puts Chase as a dark horse. Starting games for an FBS team as a true freshman is a good sign, don’t be shocked if Chase has a breakout season.

Is he on Twitter?

@chase_penry is the handle, expect tweets about monthly.

Completely made up fact

Chase got his last name from his immense childhood coin collection. While it mostly contains quartrels and nickrels, he takes the most pride in his penry collection.
