Notable Notes
- Jackson Grier was added to the two-deep, in place of Chase Penry as the back up “F” receiver
- Mason Randolph has replaced Ben Dooley as the starter at left guard (due to injury)
- True Freshman, Breezy Dubar, has replaced George Holani on the depth chart. This doesn’t mean that George is out for the season, because no announcement has been made in that regard. It does likely signal, however, that he is still a long way off from returning.
- Dishawn Misa has been added to the middle linebacker depth chart and an “or” has been placed between DJ Schramm and Marco Notarainni as the starter
- Curiously, George Holani and Chase Penry are still listed at punt returner despite neither of them appearing on the too deep at their respective primary positions
Holani is not even on the depth chart this week. I know depth charts rank right. up there with “read my lips, no new taxes” and “I did not have $ex with that woman.” However, it looks like the injuries have mounted up. It is unlikely he will be drafted given the injury history. Could he return and put in a sixth year the way D J did? He has a COVID year coming to him. He could spend the sixth year elsewhere. Maybe he’s already indicated that?
That would be my guess. If you stood on the sideline and watched #2 make people look silly, I think you would reconsider your future with the program too.
Which is unfortunate. Really liked Holani and think he is a great athlete. I hope that he does well if he does move on.
Harsin had nothing but good to say about Holani. First in the weight room, studied film and worked his butt off in practice.
