How’d he get to The Blue™?

The 3-star hails from St. John Bosco, home of quite a few Broncos. Off the top of my head, Tyson Molio’o (RS freshman OL) and George Holani are also alum of theirs.

Andrew won the HS natty as a junior, then spurned Kansas and Oregon to get home. (Granted it was *Avalos* Oregon that made the offer) Great choice if I say so myself.

Nickname

“Uncle Drew”

Would this man absolutely cook at a community court in a thinly veiled Pepsi ad? Probably.

Look-alike

Haircut and a shave will get us close to Brazillian CDM Casemiro. Maybe we could give Andrew Simpson the Portuguese treatment and just call him “Drew”? Spitballing here.

Career Highlights

As a RS Freshman, Simpson played in all 14 games on 3 starts. He completed his freshman defender rite of passage (blocking a punt against New Mexico), and finished the season with 29 tackles, 5TFL, 3 sacks, and 3 pass breakups. Sheeeesh.

2023 Prospectus

The sky is the limit out here. DJ Schramm has one LB spot locked up, but I expect to see Simpson a lot. Ty Tanner has left for his mission, leaving Simpson and Misa the remaining LBs we can reasonably expect. I’m very high on any LB coached by Avalos, so I’d say the prospectus is very good.
