Today, Spencer Danielson was introduced as the 12th head football coach at Boise State. The event began with some remarks by Doctor Tromp and Jeramiah Dickey, which were immediately followed by the man himself. Then, the three of them stood at the podium and took questions. They were refreshingly transparent about a lot of their process and the whole event was a very encouraging peek into the future of Boise State football. Of course, the event was immediately followed by some less-than-ideal news, but even that didn’t take the shine off of a great moment.
If you actually watch the videos, (rather than listen to them, podcast-style, in the app) my deepest apologies for the intermittent shakiness of the video. Just to give you a little inside baseball: At most press conferences, it’s like 12 of us media people in the team meeting room (this one, specifically) and we all have little desks we can fold out from the chairs. So, ordinarily, I can set the camera up on a desktop tripod and we’re good to go! Today, however, the event was in the Steuckle Sky Club and had probably 100 other people, aside from media, and there was nowhere to set up my tripod. So…leaning against a post and zooming in was the name of the game today! And, full disclosure, it’s pretty impossible to hold an image steady that long, especially zoomed in, with nothing but bare hands. Honestly, probably wouldn’t have fared better with bear hands either. At any rate though, I’m sorry you got the Cloverfield lite/found footage experience!
[A quick technical note: The embedded video service has changed from YouTube to Rumble because if you’re using the Rumble app, you can have your screen locked and still listen to the audio without having to pay extra. Also, the videos upload MUCH quicker for us]

Danielson laid out a plan. He wants to keep the roster in check. Maybe Green will reconsider. It appeared he wanted Hamden to stay. Likely at this point, Hamden can go to a P5 school and nearly double his pay.
I would like to see Green stay but I don’t think the entire team hangs on his abilities. Maddog ran the offense pretty efficiently. If Green does, indeed go; what the transfer portal taketh away it can also giveth. Danielson said he would be looking to the portal to fill some gaps.
The next two weeks will be interesting.
Just as it’s Chris PetersEN, it’s Bush HamdAN
Well, Excuuuuuse me!
but I did get Danielsen right. I’m working on Madducks Madson; that’s why I just do Maddawg.
Thanks for the correction, Blew FOG.
The Mad Dog thing just doesn’t work for a 5’9″-ish QB with the Babyface.
Time to go find a a 6’3″ – 6’5″ QB with some mobility that that adjust at the line, read a defense & actually throw a ball down field that is catchable.
Come on, John, where’s your sense of humor? And he is the epitome of the underdog. It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight that’s in the dog. For those very reasons, Mad Dog is a good name. Back in the 80s the Ohio State basketball team had a short and skinny guard named Jay Burson. Bobby Knight said he looked like his paperboy and every time we play him that paperboy puts a dagger in our hearts. I remember when Chris PeterSEN introduced Kellen Moore as a freshman starting QB. Fo Sho!! Can’t measure a Bronco’s heart with a ruler.
See: Kellen Moore, Vinny P, and Tim Gilligan! We even had a dude with half an arm! And he got a pick! I was there! Lol!
Nick Patti was like 4’-8” of pure quarterback.
Patti could return to Boise and he’d own the city.
I remember that pick! ’94 playoffs, the stadium lost its damn mind. It’s up there with the Tim Brady sack and the Blount punch for craziest crowds reactions ever on the Blue. That’s the team that made me a fan for life, and it would be awesome if they get a 30 yr recognition next season.
Before the Blount punch was the Blount safety though and I think the crowd reaction to that was pretty crazy. We didn’t allow a first down till the third quarter in that game. We had a really good defense that year!
How about SWR? (I hope the spelling is correct.) Pound for pound, the best BSU football player ever.
Good one! Avery Williams too! Titus young was smaller in stature.
What about the Avery/Harper one two punch?!?!
Some legends!!
Well played, my friend.

I think it might have been Mark Twain who said, “Anyone who can only think of one way to spell a word obviously lacks imagination.”
