Happy Memorial Day, Bronco Nation. May your grills be full of burgers and hot dogs, and may your thoughts of work be pushed until tomorrow. With 96 days until the funeral of Georgia Southern, we take a look at Luke Voorhees, one of the many tight ends that Dirk Koetter and co. will have to play with this season.
#96, Luke Voorhees, RS Junior, TE

Stats
Height: 6’3
Weight: 240
High School: Pierce HS (Arbuckle, Calif.)
How’d he get to The Blueâ„¢?
Luke was a 2 Star ATH in high school, playing both tight end and linebacker. He was the number 415 recruit in California, and the number 323 ATH in the country. He walked on with the Broncos in 2021, and has worked hard to see game time, earning snaps in 13 games last season.
Nickname
“The Brains”
In his first two years at Boise State, Luke was a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete. This fall, he took it a step further and was named to the Academic All-Mountain West team. That’s a pretty incredible achievement!
Look-alike

The lookalike gods have spoken, and Luke has been deemed the spitting image of Zach Roerig. Some of you may know Zach as Matt Donovan, from The Vampire Diaries. Much like Zach, Luke very well may be on The CW shortly as well, if the Mountain West and Pac-2 decide to make things officially official.
Career Highlights
Luke was one of three Broncos to score a two point conversion last season, running it in against New Mexico.
2024 Prospecets
The Tight End room is STACKED this season, but Luke has already proven himself enough to get on the field. I’d expect him to continue to get special teams reps, with the occasional offensive snap here and there.
Is he on Twitter?
Indeed! Check out @LukeVoorhees. A lot of retweets, but still 100% worth the follow!
Completely made up fact
Luke is so smart, he knows what plays the other team is calling, before the coaches even call them. He’s the Broncos secret weapon on the sideline.

That was an incredible two-pointer.
