We have made it through our first full week of profiles. I’m so proud of you, and us for how far we have come. So strong. So brave. I am not really sure how I ended up with all three nose tackles (to date) but definitely just going to attribute it to a happy accident. With that said, we have 94 Days until kickoff.– Nose Tackle Sheldon Newton

How’d he get to The Blueâ„¢?

Mr. Newton came to Boise State by way of the transfer portal from Northern Arizona. He had spent three years amassing some pretty good stats. His 247Sports profile is kind of light, only listing Northern Arizona during his original high school recruitment.

Nickname

“Isaac”

I’m going to be honest: I nailed this last year.

Look-alike

I’m going to ride this one out too.

Career Highlights

While at Northern Arizona he amassed 65 total tackles (23 solo, 42 assists), five sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a block.

In a Boise State uniform he played in all fourteen games last year. He has 22 total tackles, and two QB hurries.

2024 Prospectus

Honestly, probably more of the same from last year. Being a solid contributor and leaving the linebackers clean to do their thing. He’s still averaging 20ish total tackles per year and I don’t expect that to change. Newton looks as if he’s either going to meet or exceed that 20-tackle benchmark and I am here for it.

Is he on Twitter?

Indeedy-roony. There isn’t much traffic on the Twitters–in general–take from that what you will.

Completely made up fact

Originally hailing from California, Mr. Newton was pretty stoked when the Treasure Valley saw its first In-n-Out. He ordered his usual: a veggie burger in a lettuce wrap with a side of raw potatoes. He had a nice cool glass of iced water with a wedge of lemon. What a delight!
