#33, Tyler Crowe, Graduate Student, Running Back

Credit: Broncosports.com

Stats

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 233 lbs (+21)

High school: Skyview High School

How’d he get to The Blueâ„¢?

A local product, Tyler Crowe earned high praise his senior season, being named the 5A SIC Player of the Year, and a 2018-2019 Idaho Press Sports Star Football Athlete of the Year. Playing both offense (as a running back) and defense (as a linebacker), he raked in the stats with 69 tackles, 1830 rushing yards, 495 receiving yards, and 25 touchdowns.

Despite the eye-popping numbers, recruiting noise stayed pretty quiet around Tyler, but it caught some eyes at Boise State. After growing up a BSU fan, Tyler jumped at the chance to play for his local team, and accepted a preferred walk-on slot on Signing Day 2019. Tyler earned a scholarship in September of 2021. More on that a few sections below…

Look-alike

There’s not a lot of great options for a lookalike for Tyler, but if you ignore the hair, the eyebrows…the eyes…and parts of the nose…you get actor, Dave Franco. Kinda.

Career Highlights

T Crowe has racked up some decent rushing efficiency as a reserve since being on scholarship. 217 yards and a TD across 2021 and 2022. That’s actually a healthy 6.02 average yards per carry! He also had three catches for 45 yards and 10 special teams tackles in that timeframe.

In 2023, he played in 10 games, caught two passes for 17 yards and carried seven times for 22 yards.

But, honestly, take a look at his high school highlights. Dude is a monster.

2024 Prospectus

The Broncos have what is known as “an embarrassment of riches” at the running back position. Among them, Crowe is not one of the primary options, but he’s a very dependable ballcarrier when called upon and is a bit of a fan favorite. However, in his final year, he’s gained 21 lbs and transitiond into a fullback. It will be interesting to see how he’s used in that capacity in 2024. With his talent and tenacity, I expect that it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Is he on Twitter?

Yeah, and he has a legendary pinned Tweet.

Completely made up fact

The Crowe has a deal with the football gods where, going forward, once a year, he will be able to return for one game in order to avenge those that doubted him.

(Sound familiar? No? Go get some culture and watch this movie!)
