Other facts
1. Smashton Jeanty
For reference, Melvin Gordon ran for 2587 yards in 2014, and Jeanty passed his yards-after-contact weeks ago. Special SPECIAL player.
2. Analytics

On defense, the matchup to watch for is 3rd down success. Oregon State is a run-focused offense that struggles at a lot of things, but do convert on 3rd and 4th downs. If we can’t get off the field, it’ll be a long day.
On offense, the good news is that the Beavs struggle on early downs. 3rd and short (or avoiding 3rd downs all together) will be the key to a big Jeanty game and Madsen’s get-right game.
3. Facts
With #1 and #2 in all-time Boise State scoring in the house, expect a LOT of points on tomorrow morning.
4. BLUE
Rejoice, Blue on Blue enthusiasts, it’s your moment.
5. Oregon State at home you say?
I wouldn’t mind a stat line like this with Oregon State in town again.
Streaks
Boise State – Won 9
Losing Team – Won 1
Best Name On Their Roster
Sailasa Vadrawdale III, DB
Big fan of 5+ syllable names that have a III at the end. That’s not just a name, that’s a title.
Best Picture On Their Roster
Dom Montiel, QB

This man can stare into your soul. Half the photos on the Oregon State roster are these big, cheesy smiles, and then he’s there…
Players To Watch
Giovanni McCoy, QB
If you need a reason for hate in your heart this holiday season, look no further than Idaho Vandal transfer Giovanni McCoy. He’s a solid dual threat QB, although is sitting at 3TD and 6INTs on the year.
Anthony Hankerson, RB
One of Oregon State’s “Two Jeantys” as he was referred to by one OreST fan early in the year. He’s no Jeanty, but no slouch either, with 972 yards and 14 TDs on 221 carries.
Skyler Thomas, DB
It says something about the defense that the clear leader in tackles is a defensive back, although with a pick and 2 fumble recoveries to boot, he’s been a stud. That said, if he was the one making (or attempting) the tackles tomorrow, I wouldn’t mind.
Keys to Victory
3rd Down Defense
The aforementioned 3rd defense will be a big deal. Oregon State wants to churn time of possession like the Cowboys did last week. My TV cannot handle the verbal abuse that would ensue in such a scenario.
Establish the Pass
I get that I’m a broken record on this one, but a couple early throws goes a long way. Keep Madsen as a threat and we’ll be cooking the whole way down. Don’t get him early throws and this could be awkward.
Health
Jeanty. Simpson. Teubs. We need to see guys healthier for the UNLV matchup, but at least not get anyone more hurt. Even if Jeanty doesn’t pop off, second half rest in a blowout would be fantastic for this team. Let’s get it done, shall we?
Score Prediction
I keep saying this will be the get-right game, but I really do think (see: hope) that this will be the day. Ashton Jeanty’s sorta senior day? I say 200 and 3 tuddies for the living legend.
Boise State 42, Oregon State 24

Let’s close out the regular season in style!!!! 🐎
BTW, Tulane lost to Memphis on Thursday night 34-24 so that should be some very much needed breathing room for the Broncos. They were getting a little too close for comfort.
Now, Who wouldn’t love to see some more chaos in the final weekend like Georgia losing to Georgia Tech & so on! 🙂
I’m going way out on a limb and saying I’d love to see a Nevada W over UNLV….perhaps it’s still the euphoric state from L-tryptophan…
I’d love to see a blowout but, after the past few weeks’ performances, I’ll take the W, whatever the score. If, as you say, Madsen can get on track, that would sure make OSU rethink putting 8-9 in the box, and that would be spectacular!
Also, who else expects passes on 3rd down from OSU? We’ve been susceptible all year. I don’t expect this game to be different. However, if those pass rushing stud muffins are dialed in, it could be a very long day for their QB!
I hope the D shows up early and throughout. None of this bend and don’t break stuff, This team can play D on a short field. The problem is that they give up passing yardage until they reach the short field. I’m also hoping to see Dubar at full gallop. I’m not sure why Koetter doesn’t run plays counter to loading the box on Jeanty. It would seem to me like it should be a passing attack. Do the Broncos have one or is it only dormant? Anyway, teams peak. It’s time to peak. If (if) the Broncos drop this… Read more »
There’s just something unholy about a 10:00 AM game–beer and pizza in the morning, can’t do it. I guess it’ll be pancakes and sausage.
