How’d he get to The Blue™?

The one fun thing about repeat appearances on the countdown is the ‘how’d he get here’ story never really changes. So I am going to use Hunter’s words from his post last year:

Lopez had a pretty standard recruitment process. He was born and raised in Ireland by Nigerian parents, where he played for the 5-time Shamrock Bowl winning Belfast Trojans, reaching the Youth National Championship semifinals with the team. He left to join NFL Academy in London where he garnered two MVP awards and helped the squad beat IMG Academy, the first European team to beat an American team. (Not that they play each other all too often!) The 3-star recruit got his offer from Boise State, and the rest is history.

Career Highlights

Pretty tame so far. He played in 13 games last year and had three tackles and a sack. Excited to add more here.

2026 Prospectus

The theme of “spots to fill” is going to be pretty steady. While the coaching staff did go out and got some immediate talent to make an impact, I am looking forward to Mr. Sanusi coming into his own. Dude has got great size and at least trending the right way in being more productive as the years go on. He’s going to see more minutes but we have to wait and see if he gets the nod in the starting rotation.

Neptune has 16 known moons. Triton, the largest, orbits Neptune backwards. Sanusi plans to travel to Triton one day and moonwalk (Tritonwalk?) it to rotate correctly.
