Thanks for sticking with us, folks. Today we present Mr. Jake Ripp:
#43, Jake Ripp, RS Senior, LB

Stats
Height: 6’3
Weight: 240
High school: Los Gatos HS (Los Gatos, CA)
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Jake was a two-way player, logging time at both linebacker and tight end. As a senior, on defense, he had 103 tackles, 6 TFLs, and one each of INT, FR, and FF. On offense, he had 227 yards and 6 TDs on only 16 receptions.
That kind of play earned him 3 stars from the recruiting folks and offers from various California schools and of course our boys in Blue & Orange. Easy choice, if we’re being honest.
Nickname
“Jake the Ripper”
Too easy.
Look-alike

Lookalike machine got this one right in 2024, so I’m bringing it back. Machine says Stranger Things and Djo star Joe Keery, and unlike Joe Kerry, here’s to hoping Jake has a purpose in season 5 of his Boise State career.
Career Highlights
Jake made appearances in all 14 games in 2025, including 6 starts where he totaled 43 tackles (3 TFLs).
2026 Prospectus
All signs point to this being a big year for Jake Ripp. With Macro Notrianni out, I’d expect Ripp to take the leap as a full time starter in the LB room. That said, there’s been questions in the LB room that need answering, and some other guys in that room itching for a starting spot. If Jake emerges as the starter, I’d expect him to be quite good.
Is he on Twitter?
You betcha, @JakeRipp.

Completely made up fact
Jake hasn’t seen The Odyssey yet. He meant to go with some friends last week and he’s busy this weekend, so he’s been trying really hard to avoid spoilers. Please don’t tell him.

I called him “Jake the Ripper” before there was a “Jack the Ripper.”
Maybe “Sleepy,” as in Rip Van Winkle.
