In order to give you something to look forward to at the end of your 9-5, here is today’s profile on this year’s #95
#95, Max Stege, Freshman, Defensive Lineman

Stats
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 266 lbs
High school: Because he is from Germany and played for a club team, information on Stege’s prep school life is hard to find but it’s also not particularly relevant as it’s not tied to his football career. I’m sure he was a great student though!
How’d he get to The Blue™?
As previously alluded to, Max comes to Boise State from much further away than most. He hails from the city of Cologne, Germany, where he played on a club team, the Cologne Crocodiles. I’ll be the first to admit that I was unaware of the existence of reptilian apex predators that appreciate smelling nice and reside in Germany, but that’s life, right? Live and learn. At any rate, Mr. Stege was a three star athlete. He was offered by a number of smaller schools state-side, with his most prominent (other) potential suitors including Eastern Michigan and Houston.
Nickname
“Sacks Max”
Fingers crossed that he earns the title because the Broncos could very much use a pass-rush boost!
Look-alike

A musician in a highly specific genre of music, named Skrillex.
I’ll be honest in saying that I had to outsource for help in coming up with a lookalike on this one. Literal phone-a-friend situation. I have to further disclose, though, that as soon as this was suggested to me, I instinctively said “Nooooo way!”, but…if you look past the hair and glasses…I can kind of totally see it.
Career Highlights
As a true freshman, he has yet to accumulate any stats at the college level. And, again, information on Max is hard to come by, but there is this glowing piece written about him by a European publication. There is also his highlight reel to consider. It shows a defensive end that has prototype size for the position and displays impressive play strength and instincts.
2023 Prospectus
In terms of returning talent, Demitri Washington is back, as is Cortez Hogans. Outside of that, though, there are few proven pass-rushers on the Boise State roster. Unless the plan is to bulk him up and move him inside, it seems like he has a decent shot at edge in testing the limits of the four-game maximum, while maintaining his redshirt year.
Is he on Twitter?
Yes. Especially if you like the almost-exclusively-retweets brand of social media interaction.
Completely made up fact
Despite being from Cologne, Max refuses to wear any. He insists that when he’s across from an offensive lineman, the only scent he’s interested in is that of the fear of his conquered enemies.
Metal 🤘
Coming for souls!!!
