Boise State Roster Countdown 2023: Day 17, Prince Stachan

For a guy who didn’t play football until 2019, Prince Stachan has a LOT of hype around him. His freshman season could be special, and with just 17 days until kickoff, it’s time to take a lot at yet ANOTHER fantastic prospect for the Broncos offense.

How’d he get to The Blue™?

As mentioned previously, Prince didn’t start his football journey until later in life. Hurricane Dorian sadly displaced his family from the Bahamas, and Prince and his family moved to Florida, where his football journey began. A mid-level three star recruit, Boise State was the only D1 school to offer, despite his excellent size and speed- Prince ran a 51.99 second 400 in high school. He made ESPN’s “You Got Mossed” in 2021. His brother is Michael Strachan, the Colts 7th round pick in 2021. When it was all said and done, Prince was listed as a top-200 receiver in his class.

Nickname

The Prince of Boise

When your name is royal, it’s easy to get a nickname like the Prince of Boise. Prince is heir to the throne of great BSU wide receivers, and his size and speed should lend to him ascending to that throne. Andy and his staff know how to pick out gems, and Prince seems to be one

Look-alike

Price reminds me of Michael Strachan, the NFL player. That would make a whole lot of sense, as they are brothers. Lets hope Prince finds that level of production!

Career Highlights

Prince’s junior year saw him lead his team with 33 receptions for 633 yards. He showed off his speed and big play potential his senior year, adding two more to his junior tally to get to 34 catches, but grabbing 773 yards for 22.7 yards per grab. He also had 9 touchdowns that year. Prince is a two sport athlete for the Broncos, as he runs track as well.

2023 Prospectus

The BSU receiver room is an interesting place in 2023. There is a TON of talent, but the focus is on the running game. We have seen Prince make a few nice grabs this year already in fall camp, and there is a lot of hype around him. He seems destined to be an impact player at some point, but if that is this year or not is yet to be seen.
