Stats

Height: 6-0

Weight: 238

High school: St. John Bosco HS (Hometown: Norwalk, CA)

How’d he get to The Blue™?

The Broncos successfully wooed him from a rather random list of offers: Kansas (Take THAT two local reporters), Central Michigan, FIU, and Coastal Carolina. Kansas initially had his commitment, but in the end, we had his signature.

Nickname

“Uncle Drew”

Long before it was a movie, we had this legendary YouTube video. Difference is, it won’t be a surprise when this Uncle Drew cooks on the field.

Look-alike

Our lookalike machine is never wrong, and today it’s returned Mr. Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, commonly named after Saturday and Sunday, The Weeknd. Maybe we’ll see Andrew Simpson in the Super Bowl too?

Career Highlights

Little bit of everything, really. In 14 games, he tallied 66 tackles, 16 TFLs, and 6.5 sacks. Also recovered a pair of fumbles and snagged a pair of interceptions. Like I said, a little bit of everything. 3rd Team All-American!

2024 Prospectus

I think we all saw it coming with his solid freshman season, but Simpson really put it together last year, not just as a Linebacker, but a pass rusher as well. He’s one of the most important pieces of this defense, and will certainly have much to say of our fortunes in 2024. Just need him to stay healthy.

Is he on Twitter?

He is, @dreww__2, and he’s hitting the real topics.

Completely made up fact

Amongst close friends and family he is known as Antrew, and has a dedicated ant farm room with a variety of ant species, much to the chagrin of his roommates. He says he does it as an homage to California, where ants are the most common animal. Coincidentally, ants are also the most common animal in Idaho, as well as the other 48 states.
