How’d he get to The Blue™?
Mr. Caples was a three-star recruit out of high school, Top 100 wide receiver in Texas (football is kind of a big deal down there). He had an impressive offer sheet from Missouri, Colorado (ehh), and Boston College. He obviously chose correctly.
Nickname
“Capables”
Just stealing this one from Ryan’s write from last year.
Look-alike

Hip Hop artis Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def). I think it’s the eyes.
Career Highlights
Mr. Caples has only appeared in one full season and he made the most of it. In his sophomore season he had 51 receipts with 549 yards, and four touchdowns.
He’s also picked as Phil Steel’s preseason All-Mountain West Third team and Athlon Sports Preseason All-Mountain West Third team.
2024 Prospectus
He’s “only” had one season but this is going to be his season. And his services are going to be needed. The Broncos are going to have arguably the best running back position group in the Mountain West (the best running back in the Mountain West is Ashton Jeanty and that much is NOT for discussion). Having Caples’ services to open up on the downfield attack? My goodness it’s something to be excited about. Prince Strachan is going to come into his own and then Austin Bolt should really be coming through. This group is going to be fun to watch and I am excited for Caples to get back to doing what he does best: be awesome. I mean, he had over 200 yards receiving in a scrimmage this year. How does that NOT translate to otherworldly stats going into the season?
Is he on Twitter?
Completely made up fact
His Twitter handle, ‘Trellfor’ was actually supposed to be ‘Trogdor’ (from Homestar Runner) but Caples figured he didn’t want to take that fame away from the early 2000’s website.

Here’s a tidbit: one of the reasons Jeanty came back was to play with Caples. This Caples guy could be a lot better than we think if he commands that kind of respect from Jeanty.

I don’t think we’ll see tremendous numbers from Latrell this year. It’s only because five or six other good receivers must be fed. However, it will be evident he is the crème de la crème.
