Welcome, folks! Introducing a player from across the pond:
#59, Lopez Sanusi, RS Freshman, DL
Stats
Height: 6-3
Weight: 299
High school : NFL (England) Academy
How’d he get to The Blue™?
Lopez had a pretty standard recruitment process. He was born and raised in Ireland by Nigerian parents, where he played for the 5-time Shamrock Bowl winning Belfast Trojans, reaching the Youth National Championship semifinals with the team. He left to join NFL Academy in London where he garnered two MVP awards and helped the squad beat IMG Academy, the first European team to beat an American team. (Not that they play each other all too often!) The 3-star recruit got his offer from Boise State, and the rest is history.
Nickname
“Lopez the Great”
names.org tells me that the name Sanusi means “Something great created by Allah/God” and I have to say that I’d agree.
Look-alike

I might be showing my age here (or lack thereof), but the lookalike I’m seeing here is Mark Phillips (known for his YouTube Channel RDCworld1). His video from the last Olympics was a classic.
Career Highlights
Two total appearances for Lopez, including a solo tackle against San Diego State.
2025 Prospectus
Sanusi is a guy I just keeping hearing more about. With many new looks on the D-Line there’s certainly an opportunity for breakthrough. That said, he’s still just a freshman, so patient growth is probably the right attitude to take on.
Is he on Twi/X?
Yes he is—@LopezSanusi. Give him a follow (especially if you’re a college coach looking to recruit Lopez’s teammates at the NFL London Academy)
Completely made up fact
A non-negotiable in Sanusi’s contract to sign with Boise State was that the team would be required to fully celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. Now, the team does much more than the annual social media post of the team with Shamrock clip art pasted on. They even do that thing they do in elementary school where they dump a bunch of green glitter everywhere, and I’m told they even have green Gatorade to celebrate the holiday.

He is the future. Work hard and study film. Always look eager to go in. Stay in school. Get your degree.
