This Boise State at USF Depth Chart (and pronunciation guide) comes at a very special time. Because tomorrow, Boise State will yet again head to the state of Florida TO BEGIN THE 2025 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON. WHOOOO!
This time, they will be taking on the Bulls of South Florida, in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ stadium. Unlike the last time they went to Florida, it appears the weather is cooperating. For now. Let’s hope that remains the case, because 1. We NEED Bronco football back, ASAP as possible, and 2. We don’t have any players for which we could easily produce an alliterative nickname in conjunction with “Hurricane” like we could last time.

Notable Notes
- Double check Matt Lauter’s name pronunciation. I learned this when I interviewed him the other day, but take note because he’s almost certainly a soon-to-be an NFL guy…the pronunciation is Law-turr. You don’t want to be the guy mispronouncing his name. That would be embarrassing!
- Local kid, Max Cutforth wrested back the No. 2 QB job, but don’t worry about Kaleb Annett because…see below:
- QB Kaleb Annett is a backup…punter? Are we going to allow that? He’s not even Australian!
- Of the 11 players that started on defense in the Fiesta Bowl, 7 are back.
- A little further down the list in terms of being a big deal, but it’s at least notable that not one, but TWO true freshmen wide receivers made an appearance on the depth chart. Unfortunately, we don’t have profiles for them because we only do 100 days of countdown, but there’s more players than that. So, we often gamble on not covering true freshmen. Whoops!
- The depth chart indicates that Malik and Sire will be co-starters at running back. Sometimes, though, the depth chart doesn’t really mean that. However, Coach Danielson’s comments last Saturday indicate he really does envision a somewhat equitable workload distribution. It’s relatively surprising, considering how reliant BSU was on one feature back last year, but it’s not a bad strategy. There’s lots of great examples of having both a speed and a power back as co-starters. For example, it’s working out pretty well in Detroit with Sonic and Knuckles!

Jeanty is back!!!!!! lol
Lol, man…if only. Fixed!
Freudian slip? (of sorts)
