Outside of sharing 98, do you know what today’s entrant has in common with 98 Degrees? The boyband from the late 90s, early 2000s that had such acclaimed hits as ‘The Hardest Thing’, ‘I Do (Cherish You), and ‘True to Your Heart’? I don’t either. Was just curious if you knew — Nose Tackle Herbert Gums

Stats

Height: 6′ 1″

Weight: 310 lbs

High school: Dilboll HS, Diboll, Texas

How’d he get to The Blueâ„¢?

Mr. Gums was a four-star prospect coming out of Texas with offers from Houston, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas Tech Iowa State, Kansas State, and LSU (I could keep going, but eh. He chose to come to Boise State and, honestly, that’s all that really matters.

I’m just wholesale plagiarizing this one.

Career Highlights

His Boise State football career has seen steady growth and output. He appeared in one game as a true Freshman to appearing in all 14 games (starting 13 at nose tackle) last season where he had 21 total tackles (1 for loss), and a forced fumble.

2024 Prospectus

Piggybacking off of his career highlights we can only surmise that this is going to be the year Gums goes all-world on the competition. As a leader for the Broncos who has “done his time” as it were, he is going to be a tremendous asset in a defense that should, hopefully, get a lot of help from the offense in terms of not turning the ball over. There is a lot of momentum going on for the Broncos right now and Head Coach Spencer Danielson knows this this defense very intimately. Gums will have north of 20 tackles, at least three sacks, and finally snag one of those fumbles.

Is he on Twitter?

Yep! But don’t expect much.

Completely made up fact

Apparently TV commercials emit a tone that is inaudible to human ears but can get picked up by phones. Herbert Gums can hear inaudible tones too, but it’s mostly fear from the opposing QB.
